Benefits gained from studying music

Although not everyone who studies voice will necessarily develop into a professional singer, there is much to be gained from taking voice lessons.

Whether it is to build self-confidence and personal growth, to develop a new artistic outlet that allows for self-expression, to just sing better in your church choir, or land a part in your school play, studying voice will facilitate all of the above.

We all work on an understanding of how the voice works, breathing techniques, extending your vocal range, resonance, articulation, artistry, making an emotional connection to the music and preparation for auditions and performances. Once you have an understanding and coordination of all the above elements, you can adapt your vocal technique to any musical style.

Besides the sheer joy and pleasure derived from learning how to sing, you or your child can expect to develop a better attention span, memory and a solid foundation of learning skills that will apply to other areas.
